Ties of
the Blood

"Ties of the blood" with its 300 pins, form a red tie.
When you talk about blood ties, you usually refer to the immediate family, but blood is something we all have in common regardless of religion, colour or cultural background. The work is interactive, as the audience can take a pin and doing so support the thought of blood as something that ties us together on a universal level.

Neighbourly love, globality, social indignation and human nature is the focal point in Birgitte Holmsteens work for 2013th St. Loye Award show.
Not an easy task when you want to transform difficult agendas into something as analogue and materially as jewellery.
